Why less is more

A lot of the time, we tend to think that providing more means more value. Bigger portions, longer posts, extra features—surely more must be better, right? But sometimes, this isn’t the case, especially when it comes to creative works.

Think about your favorite song, movie, or book. What makes it great isn’t how much it throws at you, but how well it delivers what matters. A powerful 3-minute song can leave a bigger impact than a 10-minute track filled with unnecessary solos. A short, punchy article can stick with you longer than a rambling essay.

In a world that is fast-paced, it’s clear that people want to consume often and quickly—which is why shorter content that cuts straight to the gold tends to win more. Attention spans are shrinking, and if you don’t grab someone fast, you’ll lose them. That’s why the best creators know how to distill their message into its purest form.

Too much information can become overwhelming and hard to understand. If you can get your message across by cutting out the fluff, do that. Whether you’re writing, designing, or even just explaining an idea, clarity beats quantity every time.

So next time you’re creating something, ask yourself: “What’s the core of what I’m trying to say?” Strip away the excess. Keep what matters. You might just find that less really is more.
